Believed to be a sport of Fortunei Hyacinthina from J. Kulpa, 1989. Leaf blade 7"x 5", thick, pale chartreuse becoming ivory then fading to a dull green with green veins, wide dark olive green margin with celadon streaks jetting toward the midrib, slightly dimpled, strongly veined, twisted, nearly heart shaped leaves. Lavender flowers in late July. Whirlwind is a classic hosta that should be included in everyone's collection. We have a nice sized one in a pot that everyone seems to gravitate to when they see it, despite being an older hosta.
