HOSTA OF THE YEAR FOR 2000
CLEARING SOME OUT TO MAKE ROOM FOR NEW HOSTAS
Sagae has been around for many years but is one of the most distinguishable hostas in the garden making an impressive upright mound that deserves a spot of its own where you can see it from all sides. Sport of H. fluctuans. Very impressive vase shaped mound of wavy, yellow margined foliage. Leaf blade 14"x 10", broadly ovate shaped, center blue-tinted mid-green with some grayish streaks. Margin lightens to creamy white when grown with some direct light. Leaf smooth textured and thick substanced. Petiole green outlined in cream. Lavender flowers in profusion on scapes up to 50" high in July.
